Maricopa County is the nation’s fastest-growing county, home to approximately four and a half million people.
The County is governed by five elected district supervisors. The Board of Supervisors appoints a county manager. The Board sets the agenda and approves a budget that allocates money to all departments and elected offices. The county manager is the chief administrator of Maricopa County and oversees more than 40 appointed departments in carrying out the vision of the Board.
Maricopa County has several other elected officers who are responsible for managing their own operations and staff.
